More and more apps use AI to run family life. They do very different things, though. This overview puts six options side by side.
Short answer: if you want an assistant that thinks of tasks, shares them out and delivers them in WhatsApp and the calendar, Saam fits. If you mainly want school newsletters turned into appointments, look at Gether or KindRly too. If you want an assistant that also offers emotional support, that's what AlphaMa focuses on. If you want to motivate children with points, Heima has an AI assistant.
First, a disclosure: Saam is our own app, so it is in the list. Everything about the other apps comes from their own website, App Store page or the source given, viewed on 8 October 2026.
| App | What the AI does | Language | Cost |

| Gether | Turns forwarded emails, WhatsApp messages and photos into appointments | English | From $4.90 a month |
| KindRly | Pulls school events out of newsletters | English | Free up to 3 scans a month, Plus $6.99 a month |

Our own app. You say or type what's going on, such as "Sophie has judo on Friday and we're almost out of nappies". Saam fills in what you didn't say (a date, what needs to come along), shares it out to whoever has the least on their plate that day, and delivers it in WhatsApp and the calendar. A photo of a school letter or a forwarded email becomes appointments. The app has a family calendar, shown on a tablet as a large monthly schedule. When in doubt, Saam asks one short question instead of making something up. Free for now. Suits: families where the remembering falls on one parent. Suits less: anyone looking for an assistant to chat with; Saam is not a chatbot. Source: App Store
A web app from Australia. You forward emails to Gether, or WhatsApp messages, texts and photos of paper notes, and Gether turns them into appointments and tasks on a shared family dashboard and in Google Calendar. Partners get a daily text reminder. From $4.90 a month. Suits: families with lots of post from school and clubs. Source: gether.life
Pulls dates, deadlines and actions out of school newsletters, emails and PDFs, and puts them in a shared family calendar with a colour per child, linked to Google and Apple Calendar. Free for two children and three scans a month; Plus costs $6.99 and Family $9.99 a month. Suits: anyone who mainly wants to process school post. Source: App Store
An AI assistant for mothers that maps the mental load across eight areas of life, with voice conversations, meal planning, Gmail and Google Calendar, and emotional support based on cognitive behavioural therapy. You send the shopping list to your partner via WhatsApp in one tap. iPhone only. Suits: mothers who want support, not just planning. Source: App Store
An AI family assistant that brings calendar, reminders, meal planning and family information together in one place you can ask questions of in plain language. Famori started as a WhatsApp service and is now a web app. There is a free version. Suits: anyone who wants one place for all family information. Source: Product Hunt
A family app for chores and routines in which children earn points. Since April 2026 Heima has an AI assistant that lets you say or type a chore (source: Emerce). Free, with Premium. Suits: families who want to motivate children with points. Source: App Store
A general assistant like ChatGPT can come up with a weekly menu or a packing list, but it doesn't remember what's going on in your house, doesn't share anything out and doesn't put anything in everyone's calendar. That's what the apps above are built for.
What is the best AI assistant for parents?
It depends on what you're after. Saam takes over thinking of, sharing out and passing on tasks, delivering them in WhatsApp and the calendar. Gether and KindRly mainly turn school post into appointments. AlphaMa focuses on mothers and also offers emotional support. Heima uses AI for chores with points for children.
Is there an AI family assistant that works in Dutch?
Yes. Saam is a Dutch app, fully in Dutch and English, and free for now. Most of the other AI family assistants in this overview are English only.
Which AI family apps are free?
Saam is free for now. AlphaMa, Famori and Heima are free to use with paid extras. KindRly has a free version with three scans a month. Gether costs from $4.90 a month.
Is this overview neutral?
Saam is our own app, so it is in the list. We describe each app from its own website or App Store page on 8 October 2026 and say where Saam suits less.
